One of the daily frustrations for amputees using a pin-lock suspension system is alignment of the liner distal locking pin with the hole in the pin socket lock receiver. One of the most effective ways to deal with this problem is for the prosthetist, fitter or technician to drill a 3/4" finger access hole for manual manipulation and alignment of the pin. This does not compromise socket strength, and has a value-added benefit for the amputee.
